Metro on 2 stretches by April 2015: CM Siddaramaiah

Metro phase I work will cost Rs 13,500 crores while phase II will cost Rs 26,500 crores.
 
Chief Minister S. Siddaramaiah announced that the Metro service on Peenya-Hesaraghatta cross (Nagasandra) and Magadi Road-Nayandahalli station stretches would be thrown open to the public by April 2015.
 
Speaking to reporters after inspecting Hesaraghatta cross station, Toll Gate (Vijayanagar), KR Road and Central college station works, Mr. Siddaramaiah said that both these stretches will be completed by December 2014.
 
The Nayandahalli-Magadi Road stretch is 6.5 kms while the Hesaraghatta cross-Peenya stretch is 3.5 km.   
 
CM S. Siddaramaiah visited all the 3 metro stations without the help of a lift or elevator. He climbed three stories easily accompanied by  his ministerial colleagues Mr. Roshan Baig and Mr. Ramalinga Reddy.  At Hesaraghatta metro station he spoke to some laborers about their ‘native place’ and at the toll gate station he approached a crowd which was waving to him. Near Nayandahalli he allighted from his Volvo bus and chatted with locals.
